Released

Hi Family,

I thought I would let you all know that I was released yesterday as the Bishop of the Rancho California Ward. It's hard to believe five years have already passed. I am filled with many conflicting emotions today -- the strongest being a great sense of gratitude for the opportunity I've had to serve and for the love and support that my family provided me. My family has made many sacrifices and I want Keri and the children all to know how much I love and cherish each of them. However, our family has been very blessed and I am grateful as well for the goodness the Lord has provided.

I love you all!

Uncle Bubby

Daddy, it is sort of weird not having you as the bishop any longer. You did such an amazing job and i know that bishop jacobson has some big shoes to fill. Thank you for being such a great example to me of christ like service and love. I hope to marry a man just like you!! You are amazing! thanks...i love you

Wow...dad you are done. I know you won't read this cause you're not a huge blogger but I love you. I have never met a greater man then you. Thanks for your service. It will be good to have you home and get to be with you for the few more weeks that I am home. I love you

Mark, no doubt about the conflicting emotions when it comes to an end. It is so much a part of your life and who you are that it takes some time to kind of return to not feeling like a bishop. At least that's kind of how I felt.

But I will say this, the best part of the release had be how quiet the phone stayed on the next few Sundays. It was amazing.

Take care,
John

Bubby,

I am so pleased (not proud because we are taught to beware of pride) with how you served. Your family is a great example to me. Your family has obviously been blessed through your faithful service. I wish you were in my ward because I would TOTALLY submit your name for primary:-)

love,
